PERFECT SYMMETRY

In a loudspeaker driver, perfect mechanical and magnetic symmetry is what allows true linear excursion (Xmax). When the motor, suspension, and magnetic field are balanced, the voice coil experiences the same force in both directions of travel, keeping it centered in the gap even at high excursion. This prevents rocking, flux modulation, and uneven restoring forces that cause distortion and dynamic compression. The result is greater usable Xmax, cleaner bass, and stable midrange performance—so the driver moves exactly as intended, even when pushed hard.
